I spotted a rare piece of Canadian automotive trivia at the Friday meet and greet on the day before the big Western Canadian Nationals show. I didn’t think I’d ever lay eyes upon a 1960 Ford Frontenac but there it was. Produced for just a single model year, the Frontenac was Ford of Canada’s answer to giving Mercury-Meteor dealerships a compact car to rival the newly minted Ford Falcon. While built on the Falcon platform, it boasted distinctly Canadian touches like its signature maple leaf grille emblem and custom trim.
The quality of the vehicles that showed up this afternoon was exceptional, hopefully a harbinger of things to come at tomorrow’s show.
