The High River show traditionally signifies the end of car show season in Southern Alberta. It is also the largest show with an abundance of vehicles on display, sometimes in the neighbourhood of 500 – 1000 vehicles in downtown High River. The best news is the weather forecast is looking excellent for Sunday with partly sunny skies, a high of 23° celsius, and no rain.
Due to the pandemic, last year’s show was a “miniature” version held at Eamon’s Garage on the outskirts of town. The 2019 show was snowed out, so it will be nice to see it back in its full glory.
If you’re showing your car at High River, there are instructions on the River City Classics website.
If you live in the southeast corner of the province, there is a Rust or Shine show on Saturday in Schuler, which is a short distance north of Medicine Hat. The weather forecast for this area is even warmer with a high of 27° and mostly sunny. It should be a beautiful day with all the activities that are planned.
Bugs, Bunnies, and Buses is celebrating Oktoberfest on Saturday at Fifth Ave Volkswagen. All models (air and water) of VW, Porsche and Audi are welcome.
Wild Rose car Club show and shine at Black Swan Ale House in Calgary goes all day 11-10.
Jeep show and shine at Crowfoot Dodge Chrysler 11-3.
Going forward, there will still be some week night shows at Chestermere and New Horizon mall if the weather co-operates.
I’m posting some photos in the gallery below from previous High River shows which I’ve attended.
