Zegil Automotive and Pure Country Meats held an excellent show at the Strathmore Agricultural Exhibition grounds. The sketchy weather probably kept a few cars from coming but it turned into a pleasant day after a few early morning sprinkles. The vibrant, delightful town of Rosemary(pop. 390) was celebrating Canada day with a parade and a remarkable car show with many stunning vehicles on display. I visited one more car show in Saskatchewan before heading back to Alberta. My only memory of Indian Head while living in Saskatchewan was going there on a class trip in about grade five. It's nice to be back home in Saskatchewan, the land of living skies. We took a step back in time at Alberta's oldest general store where Beverley, the proprietor, is keeping the past alive at this quaint and authentic piece of history. Calgary – Aspen Heights has the best car show lunch

The car owners were well-fed at the Aspen Heights Retirement Residence car show today. Steak, two choices of salads, wraps, corn on the cob, and a variety of pastries for dessert. Coke, orange, and root beer completed the feast. In addition to the delicious lunch, the residents were treated to some nice old cars to bring back memories and reminisce about days gone by. I enjoyed a visit with my brother in Medicine Hat on Friday and stayed over for the car show in Redcliff on Saturday. This was a first-class show hosted by the Redcliff Lions club and was beyond all my expectations for the number and quality of the vehicles on display. Once it was a town a few miles from Calgary but Shepard is now a part of Calgary in the deep southeast. What a wonderful show! I find it so easy to connect with the seniors, possibly because I'm old, too. It was a pleasant afternoon in McKenzie Towne, chatting with the residents, eating hot dogs, petting friendly dogs, and looking at classic cars. The quote is from the 1953 Motorama at the Waldorf-Astoria in New York city, but it could have been today in Calgary. The all-original 1953 Corvette was an amazing sighting at the Corvette show at Capital Chevrolet. Only 300 were produced, and we have one right here in Calgary.
