It was a gorgeous autumn day in Leader, Saskatchewan for the Classic Fall Festival. In addition to the spectacular classic vehicles which were on display, we enjoyed delicious food, a variety of vendors, horse-drawn wagon rides, and live music.
Monty was showing his glistening 71 Dodge Charger for the first time ever. He originally owned the car as a teenager but had to sell it in order to buy a truck for his job. Fast forward over 40 years and his three sons tracked down the car in Ontario and bought it, unbeknownst to their dad. It wasn’t easy convincing the owner to part with the car but he eventually relented. They reconnected a surprised Monty with his former car and he was beaming as he told me the amazing story. You can read the complete story from Joan Janzen at the Kindersley Voice.
We experienced a rare sighting while driving the backroads on the way home. A badger crossed the road in front of us so we stopped the car and the unconcerned badger, upon going into the ditch, turned around and stared at us for a few seconds. I’ll never forget that remarkable face! We were too surprised to think of taking a picture, but after recovering from our shock, Cheryl finally took her phone out and got a few but the badger had walked away into tall grass by this time.
