I was holding out hope that the weather forecast for southern Alberta might change. Well, it has - for the worse. Friday and Saturday look like complete rainouts. If you are postponing your show, send me an email and I'll update the calendar. Some shows have already been re-scheduled. … [Read more...] about Special weather statement has been issued for the weekend

Calgary – Aspen Heights has the best car show lunch
The car owners were well-fed at the Aspen Heights Retirement Residence car show today. Steak, two choices of salads, wraps, corn on the cob, and a variety of pastries for dessert. Coke, orange, and root beer completed the feast. In addition to the delicious lunch, the residents were treated to some nice old cars to bring back memories and reminisce about days gone by. The … [Read more...] about Calgary – Aspen Heights has the best car show lunch
Redcliff – Jun 14, 2025 – 178 photos
I enjoyed a visit with my brother in Medicine Hat on Friday and stayed over for the car show in Redcliff on Saturday. This was a first-class show hosted by the Redcliff Lions club and was beyond all my expectations for the number and quality of the vehicles on display. I was impressed with the beautifully restored 1966 Ford Bronco. 1966 was the first year that it was produced. … [Read more...] about Redcliff – Jun 14, 2025 – 178 photos
Calgary – Shepard – Jun 7, 2025 – 68 photos
Once it was a town a few miles from Calgary but Shepard is now a part of Calgary in the deep southeast. Thirty years ago I drove past this location frequently during the summer as I was hauling my race car to Race City Speedway. It's nice to have a new venue in the city for a car show. With the good weather, there was a sizeable turnout for this first ever show. One … [Read more...] about Calgary – Shepard – Jun 7, 2025 – 68 photos
Calgary – McKenzie Towne Retirement Residence – Jun 7, 2025 – 37 photos
What a wonderful show! I find it so easy to connect with the seniors, possibly because I'm old, too. It was a pleasant afternoon in McKenzie Towne, chatting with the residents, eating hot dogs, petting friendly dogs, and looking at classic cars. The nice weather resulted in a good turnout of vehicles including Dave's 61 Buick which he was showing for the first time ever. Thanks … [Read more...] about Calgary – McKenzie Towne Retirement Residence – Jun 7, 2025 – 37 photos
“When show visitors saw the 53 Corvette, they went wild”
The quote is from the 1953 Motorama at the Waldorf-Astoria in New York city, but it could have been today in Calgary. The all-original 1953 Corvette was an amazing sighting at the Corvette show at Capital Chevrolet. Only 300 were produced, and we have one right here in Calgary. You can see the proud owner, Earl, in my photos. Only one colour was available, polo white … [Read more...] about “When show visitors saw the 53 Corvette, they went wild”
Calgary – A and W – Jun 6, 2025 – 31 photos
I arrived late to the weekly Friday night Cruisin' at the Junction but I was lucky to find Victor and his very rare, recently restored 1962 Mercury Econoline. There are a few Ford Econolines kicking around southern Alberta but I've never seen a Mercury before. Victor was showing this beauty for the first time ever tonight but assured me that he will be at many shows throughout … [Read more...] about Calgary – A and W – Jun 6, 2025 – 31 photos
Wild Wednesday – Jun 4, 2025 – 42 photos
I was drawn like a magnet to Doug's 1955 shiny red Thunderbird at last night's Wild Wednesday. It turns out he was showing it for the first time after working on it for the last few months where it became a family project with his daughters. I appreciate seeing cars where the owner has kept it completely stock, even the wheels. The car retains its original 292 V-8 and automatic … [Read more...] about Wild Wednesday – Jun 4, 2025 – 42 photos
