Pushing the boundaries of the NiceOldCars empire, I took a wonderful autumn drive on back roads to Kindersley, Saskatchewan to take in the Goose Festival car show. At this time of year we're into the season where days start out cool but by parade time at 11 a.m., the sky was blue and the sun was starting to warm things up. The downtown was lined with throngs of people out to … [Read more...] about Kindersley, SK – Sep 26, 2026 – 115 photos

High River Legion – Sep 20, 2026 – 76 photos
It was a beautiful autumn day for the High River Legion's car show which was being held in conjunction with the Legion's 100th anniversary. Smaller events like this always hold a special kind of magic, drawing out hidden gems and garage-kept treasures you’d never spot on the usual show circuit. Among the standouts was Brad’s 1952 Buick Special, making its very first … [Read more...] about High River Legion – Sep 20, 2026 – 76 photos

The Thumbs Up Foundation’s Peace in the Park outdoor live music event celebrating healers, helpers, and heroes was held in Nose Creek Park in Airdrie under a warm autumn sun today. Swift Current – The Big One – Sep 15, 2026 – 315 photos
A number of impressive cars showed up for The Big One but nothing stopped me in my tracks quite like an exceptionally rare 1973 Buick Apollo, brought to the show by the mayor of Rush Lake, Stacey Beisel. Built on GM’s classic Chevy Nova platform, these Apollos were produced in tiny fractions compared to their bowtie cousins, making a car show appearance virtually unheard of. … [Read more...] about Swift Current – The Big One – Sep 15, 2026 – 315 photos
Cochrane Fall Colours – Sep 13, 2026 – A Special Update – 45 photos
I waited for the fog to lift before going to the Cochrane car show and so did everybody else. When I arrived around 1 pm, navigating through the huge crowd made isolating a clean shot of any single vehicle nearly impossible. Yet, among the sea of enthusiasts and milling onlookers, a few standout vehicles caught my eye for the very first time. I waited for that fleeting moment … [Read more...] about Cochrane Fall Colours – Sep 13, 2026 – A Special Update – 45 photos
Calgary – Diablo’s – Sep 12, 2026 – 107 photos
Welcome back, Diablo's Greaseball Bash! If you look at my photo archives, you’ll notice the oldest one on the list is the Diablo’s show at the Thorncliffe Community Centre in Calgary back on July 21, 2018. That was right around the time I first got hooked on attending car shows, and I’ve been eagerly anticipating the return of another Diablo’s event ever since. Today was the … [Read more...] about Calgary – Diablo’s – Sep 12, 2026 – 107 photos
Calgary – Ocean Trailer – Sep 11, 2026 – 60 photos
By the time I rolled in around noon, the unmistakable aroma of sizzling burgers was already drifting across the lot. I simply followed the smoke to find a long lineup, where Stephanie and Adam were working their magic at the grill. Word had clearly spread about the tasty food at the Ocean Trailer show and despite some sketchy weather looming overhead, the crowd turned out in … [Read more...] about Calgary – Ocean Trailer – Sep 11, 2026 – 60 photos
