This show had to be the big surprise of the summer and it wasn’t just the impressive numbers that made the day, but the quality of vehicles on display.
When the gates opened for their inaugural event, expectations were modest. Speaking during the awards presentation, organizer Tyler admitted they were hoping for a turn-out of maybe 35 vehicles for a first attempt. Instead, the vehicles showed up in full force, with 135 classic cars, custom rides, and heavy haulers rolling onto the grounds.
What truly set this event apart from the usual car show was the heavy iron: a spectacular lineup of big rigs, both old and new.
Pleasant weather is always conducive to a good turnout and it was a hot, sunny day on the northern outskirts of Calgary. Huge thanks to the organizers and crew at Great West Kenworth for putting on such an outstanding debut show. Here’s hoping it becomes a regular fixture on the summer calendar!
