By the time I rolled in around noon, the unmistakable aroma of sizzling burgers was already drifting across the lot. I simply followed the smoke to find a long lineup, where Stephanie and Adam were working their magic at the grill. Word had clearly spread about the tasty food at the Ocean Trailer show and despite some sketchy weather looming overhead, the crowd turned out in full force. I’m awarding Ocean Trailer first place for the absolute best car show burgers in the entire NiceOldCars empire.
The threatened rain wasn’t nearly enough to intimidate the owners of the 50-plus vehicles that showed up. Fortunately, the heavy cloud cover gave way after nothing more than a faint sprinkle, treating us to welcome patches of blue sky.
With car show season entering its homestretch, it was nice to catch up with so many familiar faces, but as with any great meet, the real thrill lies in the surprises and this lineup featured a few standout gems I had never laid eyes on before.
