Car show season is almost over, but if you see Dick, wish him a happy birthday. You probably recognize his 48 DeSoto but lately he’s been attending shows with the 74 Dodge Dart Special Edition while the DeSoto undergoes some repairs. I’ve been seeing and talking with Dick at car shows since I started attending them a few years ago. Today he was at the West Hillhurst show in Calgary where I took the picture of him and learned that he will be turning 90 on Nov 2.
An article was written in 2017 about his 1948 Desoto. “Not many car shows or show-and-shines happen in the Calgary area without Besler’s big maroon coupe making an appearance.”
