The cars were fabulous but it’s always exciting to see my friend Elvis at a car show. I’ve watched Alessandro Votta from his first public appearance as an unknown, to today where he is a sought-after, award-winning Elvis Tribute Artist. The fame hasn’t gone to his head and he still takes time to pose for selfies with anybody who wants one. I first posted a photo of Alessandro in 2019 at an Alley Katz car show in Calgary.
It’s becoming a rare occasion to see cars older than I am at car shows but there were four oldies(you do the math) at today’s show including a 1927 Fire Engine. It was fascinating talking to the gentleman from the Firefighters Museum Society and discovering the fire truck came from Weyburn, SK(near my home town of Midale). Also adding to the fun was Rob with an antique bike from his extensive collection. Today he came to the show on a 1945 CCM with a step-through frame. Well, we called them girl’s bikes back in the day.
