It’s amazing to see how many classic cars are in my Calgary neighbourhood but are never seen at a car show. While walking my dog, or riding my bike in the ‘hood I have seen many interesting vehicles. The ’59 Olds Ninety-Eight was just spotted yesterday. I’ve been following the restoration work on the ’62 Chev Impala which is located about a block from my home. I spotted the VW Bus at the local gas station. Sometimes I’m at a car show and see cars parked on the street that are not officially in the show. I’m always thrilled to see the ’74 GTOs that could easily be mistaken for a Chev Nova. The orange GTO which I saw parked on the street last summer surfaced a few days ago at Spring Thaw. The final 1974 GTO was an option package on the Pontiac Ventura. If there was a car show specifically for the older vehicles in my neighbourhood, I expect there would be at least 20 cars which are seldom seen at a regular car show.
