It was perfect weather for the Didsbury show and I arrived early and took photos as cars were showing up. Sienna was already at the entrance handing out flowers to all the moms. Helmar, who was directing traffic, was standing at the same corner as I was and we enjoyed some friendly banter as the day proceeded. You can see a photo of his restored Fountain Tire work truck in the gallery.
Later, it was nice to connect with a lot of my car show friends as I walked the streets, but the most interesting conversation I had was with a young boy named Bubba. He had a lemonade stand(see photo) but I first met him as he was walking his friendly dog down the street. I want to give a shout out to his parents for raising such a polite, respectful, and engaging young man.
I was fascinated to see and hear Dave’s accounting of how he found a toy model of his 1962 Ford Ranchero(see photo).
There were many impressive vehicles at the show, but if I had to pick a favourite it would be the beautifully restored 1935 Maple Leaf pickup. I’m old enough to have driven a Maple Leaf grain truck during my childhood on the farm.
Thank you to the organizers and all the volunteers for a great show. The photos are arranged roughly from old to new.
Thank you.
Great photos, big turnout 0n a lovely day ! sorry I missed it
