One and Done: A Spectacular ’59 Corvette Makes its Show Debut

June 19, 2026 by niceoldcars 2 Comments

It’s not every day you get to witness a freshly restored piece of American automotive history roll into a show, especially when it’s a one-time-only appearance.

As you can see in the photos this beautiful 1959 Chevrolet Corvette made its official show debut today at Cruisin’ at the Junction, but unfortunately for local enthusiasts, it won’t be back. While Daniel, who executed much of the meticulous restoration work, had the privilege of bringing the roadster out to the public today, the owner will soon be taking it home to a city in British Columbia.

Under the Hood & On the Floor

This gorgeous C1 is a beautifully preserved example of classic late-fifties styling and powertrain options:

  • The Engine: The car still sports its original 283 cubic-inch V8 engine equipped with a 4-barrel carburetor. This classic base engine setup was factory-rated at 230 horsepower.

  • The Gearbox: Channeling that power is a 3-speed standard manual transmission. While a 4-speed manual and the Powerglide automatic were both on the option sheet in 1959, there is something entirely right about a classic three-on-the-floor setup. Personally, I would take the 3-speed standard over a Powerglide any day of the week!

Did you know that 1959 was the very first year that Corvettes featured factory seat belts as standard equipment?

Once you’re in the driver’s seat, it’s impossible to miss the speedometer that optimistically climbs all the way to a screaming 160 mph!

Daniel and the owner deserve massive credit for bringing this icon back to life. Safe travels out west to a truly incredible car!
